My journey began at Philip Morris International, where I started as a junior analyst in their research division. Over time, I found myself fascinated with the intricacies of tobacco cultivation and processing, prompting me to move up the ranks to Senior Agricultural Analyst, overseeing projects across several continents. After 15 fruitful years with Philip Morris, I transitioned to British American Tobacco (BAT) as their Global Head of Leaf Quality Assurance. At BAT, my commitment to quality and innovation had a significant influence on shaping the standards for tobacco leaf processing.
In 2020, I received the prestigious Golden Leaf Award for my contributions towards sustainable tobacco farming practices, an accomplishment I hold dear. My work has always been guided by a passion for the industry, a respect for the craftsmanship it entails, and an enduring commitment to environmentally responsible practices.
Today, I happily reside in the countryside of Devon, England, where the picturesque landscapes add a tranquil charm to my daily routine. When I’m not busy with industry matters, you’ll often find me in my home garden, a hobby I’ve passionately pursued over the years. The patience and meticulousness I’ve learned from gardening truly mirror the tenacity required in the tobacco industry.
Moreover, I love vintage car restoration. The thrill of rejuvenating a machine to its former glory is nothing short of intoxicating. I often draw parallels between the meticulous craft of car restoration and tobacco curing. Both demand patience, precision, and an understanding of how each part, each leaf, contributes to the whole.
